RealViz ImageModeler 4.0.3 Build 15745

One of the most powerful package for creating 3D models from photographs. Using its own built-in powerful algorithms, the application produces reconstruction volumes and spaces of 2D images. The user puts the calibration markers, and on them are defined and modeling markers, which serve as reference points to calculate the polygons. The program can be used to recognize 3D volume and the subsequent precise placement in the amount of other 3D models. The resulting project can be exported to an appropriate program of 3D modeling for future work.

To create the model requires a series of photographs taken from different angles around the object and stored in one of the formats: tga, sgi, png, jpg, pict, pgm, ppm, or cin. Images are imported into the project, and the program automatically performs their calibration, determining camera parameters (position, focal length, etc.), and establishes a system of coordinates.

The next stage of the calibration markers are set manually (they are needed to determine the reference points on which the calculation of polygons) and an automatic construction of wireframe model - with the ultimate refinement of geometry is performed manually using standard tools polygonal editing.

Next, the texture models - textures are automatically extracted from the images and materials received are assigned to individual sub-objects, and the user can change the parameters of the projection means of the built-UV Mapping Editor. The created model is exported to the 3D-formats for further processing packages 3D Studio Max, Lightwave 3D, Maya, SOFTIMAGE I XSI, Macromedia Shockwave 3D, etc., or in VRML-format for publication on the web.
