Total Network Monitor is a free software program for the continuous control of the efficiency of your network, separate computers, network and system utilities that make the essence of your network place and need to be thoroughly monitored. Total Network Monitor will alert you in case of failures and unpredictable errors in many ways before a situation becomes threatening to your work. It will build a detailed report on the type and time of the error or failure. You always have an opportunity to check any aspect of this or that utility, server, or file system: HTTP, FTP, SMTP/POP3, IMAP, Event Log, Service State, Registry, and many others. To all of these benefits, a network map and user-friendly interface make your work with the software the most demonstrable. Now, network management becomes even easier.
Features:
- Your free network management center – The time when you were running from one computer to another for checking the state of certain utilities and applications and waiting for the complaints of annoyed users is irrevocably gone. Total Network Monitor allows you to create monitor lists and customize them as much as possible according to your needs. Just click “Check All Monitors” and you will always get updated information about the state of all the network computers and utilities that run on them.
- Flexible network monitoring – Each of your network monitoring projects includes three important object groups: devices, monitors, and actions. Each device can comprise one or more monitors. A monitor comprises a probe and a list of actions. In case of a probe failure, a certain monitor will run its list of actions intended for your quick alerting about a predictable failure. Total Network Monitor gives you an ultimately convenient opportunity to monitor the state of devices and monitors.
- Specific probes – Total Network Monitor has a variety of probes divided into three major groups: Internet, Windows, and Miscellaneous. Click “Add Monitor”, select a probe type, set the main parameters, run it, and then the state of the remote utility will immediately be shown. Do you want to check server performance? Then here come ICMP, TCP, HTTP, POP/SMTP, FTP, and IMAP. If you need Windows utilities, select Registry, Event Log, or Service State. It is not a problem to check the remote file system: File Existence, Size, Count, Compare, and Disk Space are all at your full disposal. Remember, with every following version of Total Network Monitor the number of probes increases.
- Actions and event record – If you are away from your computer where Total Network Monitor is running, you can always find out if something has gone wrong. Just add a new action to your monitor that will allow a message to be sent to your mailbox or your Jabber client, to run a separate application or to execute script, to reboot a remote computer or utility, or just to make a record in a selected log file. Total Network Monitor will also create a detailed report on this project monitoring. This tool will significantly facilitate your network management.
- Scan wizard – There is nothing easier than finding computers and other network devices on a network in order to add them to your personal monitoring project. You just need to run Scan wizard and carry out several simple steps. First of all, add the ranges of addresses you want to scan, set a few scanning options, and the rest will be performed by the Scan Wizard for you. You can enter a group name as well as the types and names of the devices. After confirmation, the selected devices will be immediately added to your project.
- Network map – Besides for arranging the devices into various groups, Total Network Monitor also allows you to build a demonstrative map of your network. After adding a new computer to your project it will automatically appear on the map. The only thing you need to do is just join it to an already existing device and a conclusive plan of your network will then be ready. Did at least one probe fail? There is no reason to worry! Total Network Monitor will automatically change an icon of the appropriate device and there is no need for you to go back to the device tree. We made network management to be easily controlled and in your hands.
- User-friendly interface – The software interface is designed to be your all-seeing eye. Any important feature is just one click away from you. The program window is divided into three toolbars: device tree, monitors, and an event list. The device tree allows you to arrange your nodes into groups. If at least one probe fails, the appropriate device and group will be marked appropriately. Just select a device or group to view all of its monitors and their state.
